The Southern Riot team-mentors, instructors, students, administrators, and support:

We are just a bunch of science and technology geeks from Southwest Oklahoma.  Our team originated from Great Plains Technology Center's Pre-Engineering program and brought in local industry experts, parents, college professors, students, school adminstration and support staff.   

Southern Riot Team Captain: Aaron Guthridge; 18 year old senior at Macarthur High School; plans to attend college at Oklahoma State University and major in mechanical/aerospace engineering.  

Michael Scouten-Team Leader for Great Plains Tech Center; 18 year old senior from Elgin High School; Michael plans on attending Oklahoma University and getting a degree in Chemical Engineering.  Safety Captain

College Mentor: Chris Duncan-19 year old sophomore at Cameron University/former pre-engineering student; after graduating college from Oklahoma State University, he plans to use a mechanical engineering degree to obtain a job in the National Hot Rod Association and later even General Motors.  Design/Electronics/Programming

 

College Mentor: Erica Castillo-18 year old sophomore at Cameron University/former pre-engineering student; after completing an architecture degree at Oklahoma State University, she plans to do commercial and residential design. Research and Design

Johan Tholome'-Team Leader for Indiahoma High; 18 year old senior from Indiahoma High School; after spending this year as an exchange student in the United States, he wants to attend a university in Belgium to complete a degree for flight engineering--he'd like to get a job at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Chris Mosley-18 year old senior at Macarthur High School; he plans on attending college at Oklahoma State University and finishing a degree in mechanical engineering; after he will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the military.  Business Plan Manager

 

Iuri Michel-16 year old senior at Indiahoma High School; after spending this year in the United States as an exchange student, he wants to attend college in Brazil and obtain a degree in chemical engineering.  Research and Design

Quint Avenetti-18 year old senior from Lawton High School; after graduating college at Oklahoma State University he wants to design military jets and unmanned aerial vehicles.  Research and Design

Ronnie Currey-16 year old sophomore at Indiahoma High School; after college at Oklahoma University he plans on using his computer engineering degree to open his own computer business.  Electronics/Programming

Blaine McKinney-18 year old senior at Macarthur High School; after getting an aerospace engineering degree from Oklahoma State University, he wants to get a job with Boeing and later retire and be a band teacher.  Programming/Electronics

Ignacio Suarez-17 year old senior at Eisenhower High School;after finishing high school, he is going into military school at the West Point Academy, and then later work for the United States Army.  Research and Design

Sylverstar Conklin-18 year old senior at Sterling High School; she plans on going to Oklahoma State University and majoringin biomedical engineering, then maybe even going to medical school after that.  Publicity

Michael Keller-18 year old senior at Macarthur High School; after obtaining a masters degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma University and gaining internship experience, he wants a really good job.  Electronics/Programming

Amanda Sosa-18 year old senior at Eisenhower High School; she plans on going active Air Force for four years and attending college wherever she is stationed.  She wants to achieve a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.  Publicity

Leslie Bradley-18 year old senior at Indiahoma High School; after getting an architechural engineering degree from Oklahoma State University, she wants to design industrial buildings. Publicity

Marcus Lander-17 year old junior at MacArthur High School; plans on attending the Mechanical and Aerospace sector at Oklahoma State University; wants to design ships for NASA and he may write books.  Research and Design/Website

Chris Burris-17 year old senior at Sterling High School; after gaining an architechtural degree at Oklahoma State University, he wants to get a job in New York City, NY.  Publicity

Programming Mentor: Mr. Andy Easson-Software Engineer at Stanley Systems, Lawton, OK. He enjoys working with the students in this team project.

Lead Design Mentor: Mr. Stewart Wood-Technology Education Instructor at Indiahoma High School; he's always wanted to be a part of a robot competition and now he has the opportunity through this relationship with the technology center

Lead Electronics Mentor: Mr. Mark Polson-Electronics Engineering Technology Instructor at Cameron University, Lawton, OK.  After being involved with BEST Robotics, the FIRST Robotics was the next step for me.  I like being involved with all aspects of robotics.

Lead FIRST Contact and Mentor: Mrs. Theresa Ensley-Pre-Engineering & Math Instructor, Great Plains Technology Center

Lead Publicity and Website Mentor: Mrs. Tracy Wicker-Pre-Engineering & AP Physics Instructor, Great Plains Technology Center

Lead Team Management Mentor: Dr. Joel Guthridge-Research scientist for OK Medical Research Foundation; he wants to work with kids and show them the enjoyment of projects using math and science.

Mrs. Karen Bailey-Pre-Engineering Program Supervisor; Director of Academic Affairs, Great Plains Technology Center; lead fund-raiser, promoter, and scheduler; she wants Southern Riot to reach the regional competition and be the best; she also loves being around these great young adults.

Mrs. Rheu Nell Horton-retired professional educator and now Assistant Recruitment Coordinator at Great Plains Technology Center; organizer and implementor of travel, meals, wardrobe, copies, materials, and general do-it-all manager.

Mr. Charlie Horton-retired Colonel in the military; assistant to Mrs. Rheu Nell Horton; he runs numerous errands and assists wherever he can help; truck/trailer driver to bring robot home from Kick-Off, and very importantly a Southern Riot "button maker".  Assistant
